Design and technology is an inspiring, rigorous and practical subject.  We encourage creativity and imagination and allow our children to design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts. We allow our children numerous opportunities to recognise that there is often more than one solution to a problem and to see that the process is just as important as the end product. The children at Ashcroft will leave our school with the skills to sew, join things together, build and create and will be able to make objects that they are truly proud of. We also want our children to be able to cook a healthy meal and to recognise the importance of good food for a long healthy life. These are all life skills that we want to support children to develop so that they have strong foundations on which to build as they progress in their education.
